How to Clean Brighton Jewelry in 4 Simple Steps

Maybe you were given a new Brighton necklace for Christmas, or for your birthday, but when you set it next to a Brighton necklace you’ve had for years, you find your older necklace to look very dull and tarnished compared to your new one.

We often get customers asking, “How do I clean my Brighton jewelry?” because of course, they want their most worn necklaces and bracelets to look bright and lustrous like their new ones.

You’ll be surprised at how this simple method of cleaning your Brighton jewelry will make it look just like new in less than ten minutes. All you need is soap, water, and a towel to make your favorite, most worn Brighton jewelry look like you just bought it!

Step 1: Fill your sink up with soap and warm water

The most important thing to remember when cleaning your Brighton jewelry is to never use chemicals or store-bought jewelry cleaner. Just soap and warm water will do the trick, no chemicals are needed!

Brighton coats their jewelry with enamel, so we recommend using natural shampoo or soap to help protect the fine coating. Anything too intense may cause the enamel to peel, leaving your jewelry looking worse than when you started cleaning it.

Baby shampoo is a great choice, or you could usethis natural foaming hand soap with aloe vera.

Step 2: Lay a towel down so the jewelry doesn't scratch the sink

Place a hand towel in your sink to put your jewelry on- you don’t want the metal to scratch your sink!

Step 3: Let the jewelry soak for 5-10 minutes

Let your necklaces, earrings, rings, and bracelets soak for up to ten minutes in the sink of soapy water. If you have a cotton glove, put it on and rub the jewelry as it’s soaking to help get the grime off. For a heavy build-up on a chain that you wear all the time, use a toothbrush to scrub off the discoloration.

Step 4: Rinse the Jewelry off with warm water and pat to dry

Once you are finished scrubbing your Brighton jewelry, remove it from the sink and rinse it off with clean, warm water. Lastly, pat your jewelry with a towel to dry. You'll be surprised at just how shiny and clean your old jewelry will look when you’re all finished with this simple method of cleaning your Brighton jewelry.

How often should I clean my Brighton jewelry?

This is another question we get asked quite often by our customers. It really depends on how often you wear the jewelry, but a general time frame that’s suitable in most cases is every three months or so. Clean the pieces you wear every day every two months to keep them looking nice and polished and smooth.

If you take good care of your Brighton jewelry and take it off before you shower or swim, it will stay cleaner longer.
